Blockchain gaming has made significant strides in the Web3 space, capturing a 30% market share in the industry in the first quarter of 2024. This growth is highlighted by an average of 2.1 million daily unique active wallets, signalling a 59% increase from the previous quarter according to the report.
The Web3 industry as a whole saw daily Unique Active Wallets (dUAW) reach 7.7 million, marking a 77% jump from the last quarter. This growth trend is mirrored in the blockchain gaming sector, which ended the quarter with a notable increase in activity and new users.

Polygon emerged as a leader in the blockchain gaming space, boasting one of the largest gaming ecosystems and featuring popular games like QORPO WORLD and Anichess. Polygon also launched the Inevitable Games Fund in collaboration with Immutable, aiming to raise $100 million. The platform has already secured $30 million from various Web3 investors, solidifying its position in the gaming sector.
Ronin has experienced a resurgence, driven in part by the success of the social farming game Pixels, which migrated to the blockchain. Other games and developers have followed suit, such as Zillion Whales with Wild Forest moving from Polygon to Ronin.
Solana has rebounded and introduced its GameShift toolkit, simplifying the integration of the blockchain into games. The first gaming rollup on Solana was launched by the Web3 application platform Mirror World. Star Atlas and Genopets, two gaming dapps, continue to drive user activity on the Solana platform.
BNB Chain has announced plans for significant technical upgrades, including features to enhance the experience for large-scale gaming dapps. They introduced “opBNB Connect” as part of their strategy to assist gaming projects in developing their Layer-2 solutions. StarryNift and SecondLive were the top game dapps on BNB Chain this quarter.
SKALE, a newer player in the space, has attracted attention for its partnership with Arena Games, offering faster transaction speeds for gaming. The platform announced a $2 million grant for gaming projects by the end of the quarter. motoDEX and 5TARS have been driving growth on the SKALE platform.
These developments highlight the dynamic nature of the blockchain gaming space, with various chains competing for dominance and introducing new features to attract developers and gamers alike.
